Horsier, a Soviet vehicle repair shop is located in a wooded area, approxirrsately 8 kilometers vest of Ploesti on the road to Targaviste. No S v1et units are reported in Sibiu. It is rumored that in February 1951 four Soviet and two Chinese generals were in f3te].in to attend a military celebration. An importasrt Soviet heedg1ertscre is located. in Scrovietea between Perin and the Ia3 its Siver. The nature of the heedparters could not be determined. It is equipped with ItS vehicles and artillery pieces whose barrels are approximately 3 miters long. The weapons are equipped with muzzle brake. A Soviet infantry unit occupies two single-story buildings on the western edge of Galati in the Tiglina quarter. The unit supplies guards for an aamoani- tion depot near the Siretul River. A Soviet infantry unit of undetermined strength occupies the barracks form- erly containing the 32d Infantry Regiment in Floesti. A Soviet tank and gun repair shop occupies an installation formerly contain- ing a Rwaanian antiaircraft unit on Targoviste Street in Ploeeti. Soviet infantry, artillery, and armored units, totaling 6,000-1,000 men, are stationed in an old castle, approximatel' 1,500 meters oast of the bridge which connects old and new Arad, and in an installation approximately 400 t,crt*xs vest of the Arad railroad station. Officers are quartered in private homes. Armament observed included armored vehicles of various types, artillery pieces, .d rocket launchers, the Rumanian 32d Infantry Regiment, on the western edge of Plossti on.Cantacuzino Streert. The installa- tions consist of a ember of buildings surrounded by barbed wire and guarded by Soviet sentries. Soldiers stationed at the shop are quartered' in s brick building.
