SOURCE PBIMORBSIY BRAY DEVELOPS CULTURAL FACILITIES -?- Krasnoye Znamya, No 3, 5 Jan 49 The following figures indicate too tremendous cultural development of Priaorskiy Bray in 1948. Six 'one new schools, of which 17 are 7-year schools, were created. The number of students inureaaed by 22,600, and the number of teachers by 730. Among the teachers, 384 received their higher and secondary pedagogical edu- cation in Primorekiy tray. Seven hundred new students were admitted to pedagogical and teachers' institutes and pedagogical higher schools in 1948, a considerable increase over previous years. Movie theaterb in the Kray gave 62,067 performances., 22 percent more than in 1947, and the performances were attended by almost 8.5 millidn persons. Twenty-five thousand movie p2orfcrmanoes were given in rural areas. Libraries of the Bray received 1,038,000 rubles worth of periodicals.
