THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION The first electrical engineering plant for transport equipment has been built at one of the stations on the Moscow-Kursk Railroad System. The plant is designed for the following operations: manufacture of spar3 parts, repair of electrical equipment, and assembly and re-Air of electric-power generating equipment. The plant has been built as one of the units of the Central Electrical Repair Shops S;stem., The following are in operation: machine, forging, Me- sel, electrical, assembly, and tool shops, and the labcratory. Operations at the plant will include performance of capital repairs on Dissei- and steam turbine-powered traveling eloitr.Lc-2otrer station., nanufac ture of spare parts for Diesels and turbines, repair and checking of control and measure ant instruments, generators, and transformers. The plants'r half-year plan for gross production was fulfilled 126.8 per- At present, the plant has been assigned the big job of manufacturing spare p..:ts for turbines of 250, 500 and 1,000 kilourattb. A Design and Planning Bureau has been organized for developing the neces- sary blueprints for all operations being carried an by + .)is plant. The Bureau will also design new machines, devices, and apparatas for the power eoon y. The plant will participate in their productign and conduct teats of these new products.
