THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
As a result of the inoreaue in US aid from 3 to 4 million yuan, the
coal outpat from the Ping-hsiang Coal Mine of the Western Eiangsi Mining
Bureau registered a tremendous gain. Production figures for the past few
months are as follows: September, 8,377 tons; October, 12,000 tons;
November, 11,390 tans. The output for .s)eoember is expecteu to exceed
220,060 tans.
Zxtansiwe plans are now being made by this Bureau to inc:erae this
mine's daily coal production to about 5,000 tons within 5 years time,
thereby making it the largest coal mine in Kiangsi Province.
Cautruotion work an the newly-opened Vertical Shaft No 12 of this
mine was recently completed, and production is expected to begin by the
and of this month. The wiAth of the rich coal seam found is about 1.5
feet. In addition to this construction work, this mine recently constructed
a branch railroad line connecting with the Chekiang-Klangsi Railroad.
