Srobodne S1oro No 45, 1949. (Information requested.)
On the ^roposal of the Minister of National Defense, General Svoboda,
and seoonded by the Minister of Education, Dr Zdeuek Nejedly, Professor
of Arts and Sciences, the governmrnt decided on 17 February to establish
two nilitaey schools at the beginning of t' .A 19119-50 school year. Thuy
will be named for Jan Zizka of Troonov. One school will be built i the
Czech Provinces and one in Slovakia, but both will serve the entire
country. Youths of both areas will study together.
Preference will be given to the sons of workers and farmers, and
orphans of participants in the People's War fcr Liberation, of Partisans,
and of members or forotgo armies. The school will accept only atudenta
who are outstanding mentally and physically and who are politically
oonboiws. Graduates of the schools will form an elite officers' corps.
