MAVAG METALLURGICAL PLANT REORGANIZED -- Kis Ujsag, No 32, 8 Feb 49
The Mavag Metallurgical -!ant has been divided into three in-
dependent state enterprises. In its original form it employed over
10,000 men and was one of Hungary's largeat enterpriser, The divi-
sion was made on the basis of products which the three units wean
beet equipped to produce. The new 3ystbm will make it oasler to
supervise production and will gradually lead to individual respon-
aibllity in state enterprises. State enterprises engaged in met-
allurgical work will come under the direction of the $etallurgical
Industry Center.
In true future the Budapest Mavag will manufacture only five
or six lmportaat items including steam locomotives, bridges, motor
vehicles, pumps, and compressors. Mavag v'`:1 bag n the manufacture
of electric Diesel locomotives in the near future.
NEW GENERAL MANAGERS FOR STATE ENTERPRISES -- Repezava, No 33,

The Minister of Industry appointed the following as general
managers of important state enterprises: Gyula Florek pipefitter,
as head of the Mavag Locomotive and Machine-Building Plant; Ferene
Rerceg, former junior clerk, as ;aeaC of the Mavag Metallurgical Platy;
Laszlo Pataki, toolmaker, as bead of the Dimavag Diosgyor Machine-
Buildiag Plant; Jozeef Grimuylk, steelvnaker,, as head of Eock Istvan
Machine-Building Plant; Simon Boanyak, locksmith, as head of the
"Ervily Broatvic.eli es Vilagitasi Nemzeti Vallalat (State Power and
Lighting Enterprise)..
