CELL MEMBERS GIVEN SHORT C0URSES
The Shinhung county Communist Party in Hamgycng Namdo in
November 1948 conducted a special one-month short course for
the provincial cell leaders as a means to strengthen Communist
activities. The manner to which the course was conducted and
the follow-up York are as follovss`
Special instructors are selected to conduct such courses.
First, the instructors dictate the gist of the cell principles
for students to take down in their notebooks. This is followed
by detail iiscussions with abundant illustrations. To maze sure
the students do not forget, discussion groups are organized to
meet every Saturday and review what they have learned. The Sat-
urday discussion activity Is augmented with special instructions
on procedural met:.ods which every member of the Communist Party
must know. Students, who in the opinion of the teaching staff
have mastered the necessary techniques and gained adequate
kk&owis a of Communist work, are publically recognized. Those
who famed are given further instructions and guidance.
The students are quartered together during the period of
inatrgetion. They are given assistance in self-discipline,
together with intensified training in shorthand methods. Lead-
ers of each discussion group must give individual attention to
all members in his group. The cell leaders, upon completing the
course succec fully, return to their respective cosv+rmit4R and
carry on tbR same indoctrination in the scale manner to further
the Communists cause.
