The Senje mines, which have been backward in produotion for a long time, exceeded their February plan by 2 percent, and the Jelasnica and restolec mines completed their plans ahead of schedule. The E:oeovo miners also exceeded their February plan. The Slovenian lignite miners surpassed their February plan by one percent, and the Slovenian coal miners fulfilled theirs. The most successful mine in Bosnia and Hercegovina was the raicanj minp, which after months of low production eyce.ded its February plan and made up the production lost In January. The construction of a separation basin e..lvaged much coal which formerly would have gone into the river. The Bre:..a mine ex^eedeA its February plan by 4 percent. Its Moetar mine exceeded its February plan by 19 percent, and the "Marija Bureao" mine exceeded its plan by 90 percent. In Croatia the roprivnioa vines exceeded their February plan by 28 per-- cent, the "Ivan Pole" mine 25 percent, and the Ivanec mine by one percent. The Siverio mine fulfilled its plan. However, some mines in Bosnia and Hercegovina and in Croatia failed to meet their plans. The best reoord was achieved by the "Prska Calm" mine, which exoeeded its plan by 40 p^roent as the result of improved working discipline and competition. In most mines the daily plans were exceeded 15-20 peroent, but lack of transportation for workers between their villages and the mine lowered producti.co to.10.4 percent below plan at the Eienovnik mine and to 23.2 percent below plan at the Novi Kostolao mine. The Stari Kostolac mine wee one percent short of its plan because of preliminary work in progress at the mine. BRIAN COAL FIELD BEATS PLAN -- Berta, No 54, 5 Mar 49 Obilic--The workers' collective of the Kosovo coal field, which was one of the poorest in Yugoslavia in 1948 and did not fulfill its plan during any month of thn_t year, fulfilled ite January plan 95.5 percent and surpassed its February plan by one percent. VOJVODI&A MITI EXCEEDS PLAN -- Borba, No 58, 9 Mar 49 Sremelm Mitrovioa-?-?The miners of the Yrdnik mine succeeded, with the help. of volunteers from the People's Front, in exceeding their February plan by 2.08 peroent, in spite of an acotden.t to their transport equipment one night in late February. The workers' collectives of tho mines in the Tesaveki "oal field (Trbovlje, Zagorje, and Hrastnik) have fulfilled their February pl:.t,s. The beet results were shown by the workers of Trbovlje, who surpassed their plan by 4.3 peroent. BOSNIAN,MZfiR ELCEBOS PLAN -- Borba, No 56, 7 Mar 49 The February production plan at the Liubija mine Brae exceeded 5.5 percent and the shipping plan 7 peroent. The power plant, at the mine surpassed its February plan by 12.5 percent. These successes resulted from extension of the brigade system of labor and from participation in a contest.
