Warsaw celebrated the 31st anniversary of the Soviet tray at a grand
meeting on 22 February. Those present included Boleslaw 5ie,-.+ President
of the Polish Republic; Prime Minister Cyrankiewicz; Deputy Prime Minister
Borzyckt: id%rehal Zymirek1, Minister of National Defense; Modz?elevski,
Minister of Foreign Affairs; Generale Spychalski and Jarossewicz; General
Korczyc, Chief of the General Staff; Marshal of the Soviet Union K. K. Rokoasov-
skiy, and his aides, Generale Litvinov, Kotov, and Pidorenko; Soviet Ambassador
Lebedev, and General Maslow, Sc?iat. Military Attache.
General Spychalski opened the meeting and described the great service
rendered by the Soviet Army. Rokoesovskiy and Korczyc also spoke.
In Prague, Czech Government officials and outstanding workers, the
diplomatic corps, and offioers of the Czech Pray celebrated the ?lot anniversary
of the Soviet Army on 22 February. Speakers included General Svcbode, Minister
of National Defense, and Professor Nejedly, Minister of Schools.
Celebrations were also hold in Bratislava, Brno, Gottwaldov, Moraveka
Ostrava, sad other Czech cities.

of the National Council of the Fatherland Front.
The Hungarian meeting in Budapest was attended by Soviet Ambassador
G. N. Pushkin; Soviet Military Attache G. T. Zuyev; A. N. Shabanov, Minister
of Health USSR; etc. Marosan, Deputy General Secretary of the Central Committee
of the ningarian Workers' Party, epo.!-e.
General-mayor Zhanohiv f? _7 Deputy Commander in Chief of Aimed Forces
of the Mongolian People's Republic, spoke at the meeting in Ulan Bator.
Taraor. USSR Supreme Commissar (Verkhovnyy komissar) in Austria, gave
a reception in Vienne: which was attended by Austrian President Rerner, and
others.

A bust of Stalin by the Albanian sculptor Lazar Nikola was unveiled
in front of the building of the Society of Cultural Relations between
Albania and the USSR in Tirana on 23 Fatruary. The ocren ny was attended

During thr war, t'oviet industry delivered to the Red Army 775,600,000
mortar and artillery shells of all calibers. At the storming of Berlin,
Soviet forces had from 400 to 600 artillery pieces and mortars for each
kilometer of front. At tha end of th_ vur, the number of divisions was four
time the pescatiae number; toward the end of the war the Army was being
supplied with artillery and airplanes at ' rate five time greater than before
the war, and tanks were being supplied at a rate 15 time the prewar rate.
