The special commission created to assure the prompt and proper
supply of oual for Sofia reports a definite increase in the coal supply.
Whereas owl production in the Pernik sine ncsally declines in Jan-
urry, this year it was above average. Transport his been reorganized. At
the beginning of January, while traffic was olog?ed an the rcilsaad line
at Para.k, coal was moved out by trucks. Despite transport difficulties,
1,000 to 1,2D0 tone of coal fang Sofia were sowed out daily by track and 1,000
tons by rail. The i'a bri* ' dv ey established that nnly 10,000 of the
150,000 inhabitants'ot thr capital had lose than 103 kilograms oar coal.
Lilder the now system of supply, between 2 January and the and. of Feb-
ruary, 65,000 inhabitants of Sofia were supplied with geillty coal. Csal
for 1,000 oonalmuara was prwduesd daily. The plan for the Sofia coal supply
for January and February wa fulfilled 136 percent.
The pmuglsam for the coal supply for the winter of 1949-1950 will begin
on 1 April.
