tiona. The adainistration expects to ocaplete full mechanization of all drifts
in 1949.

I. Osman, chief of the Bukaohac'aa Mine Administration, reports that the
January plan for coal output was fulfilled 107 percent, and 160 percent for
mine preparatory work. Production of labor in the sines was 128 percent of the
plan, productivity of the coal loaders was 136 percent and of the drilling
machines, 105 percent. The capital construction division, the central machine
shop, and the electric power plant also fulfilled their January plane. The
best results In the oompetitien were achieved by Section No 4 of Hine No 2,
which increased the average daily output by 29 tons, and Section No 4 of Mine
NO 1.

The "Zabaykalugol'" Tract was awarded the Red Danner of the VTeSTS and the
Ministry of the Coal Industry UM, and the 50,000-ruble first prize, for its
aohieves?nts is the fourth quarter 1948. The loading and transport administra-
tion of the trust was awarded a prize of 20,000 rubles and the power train
(energopoyezd) was awarded 15,000 rubles.

The "1lslyutka" Mine at Chernovakiye aopi completed the 2-sonth plan for
Mining coal and nine preparatory work. Sections No 2 and 4 were the leaders in
the competition.

G. Yelashkin, chief of the Tignya Mine, Chita Oblast, reports that the
miners completed the 2-month plan for coal output on 16 February.

The "Vostsibugol'" Combine fulfilled and irceeded the 1948 plan and mined
more than 500,000 tone of coal above plan and 1,351,000 tone over 1947. The
combine exceeded the 1950 level for coal mining in the fourth quarter 1948 and
saved 9.5 million rubles above the plan by decreasing costa.
Miners of the combine have pledged in 1949 to:
Mine 360,000 tone of coal above the year plan, including 210,000 tone in
Irkutsk Oblast, 140,000 tons in Chita Oblast, and 10,000 tone in the Guainoozer-
ekoye Mine Administration;
Increase the area of operating and preparatory drifts by 1,000 meters;
Increase ' labor productivity by 11 percent over 1948;
Decrease the ash content of mined coal by 0.2 percent over the established
standard;
Decrease the cost of coal more than planned and save 2 million rubles;
Complete the year plan for capital construction in 11 months, the year
housing construction plan by 1 July, and the social and cultural construction

The "Yostsibugol'" (last Siberia Coal) Combine has completed the 1949
first-quarter plan ahead of schedule. Average daily coal mining of the combine
has increased almost 18 percent in comparison with the same period of 1948.
Miners of "Primorskngo]'" Combine have also fulfilled the 1949 first.

In 1948 coal mining shoved in Kirgizia an increase of 58 percent over l9}5
and 12 percent over 1940. Despite this, the "Kirgisugol " Trust fulfilled the
1948 coal-mining plan only 97.3 percent. Tie was caused by the fact that
