This cultivator can be ad)usted for corn, sugar beets, beans, potatoes, and many other plants. Plans for a tractor-drawn sower are now being completed, and the prototypes of a spreader for chsmioal fertilizer and of a combination threshing machine for stutilowers and corn have been finished. 29rw"w as DATE OF STAT Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2011/06/28: CIA-RDP80-00809A000600220672-2 Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2011/06/28: CIA-RDP80-00809A000600220672-2 FARM MACMXIC FACTORY IN VWWDmmA -- Borba, No 71, 24 Mar 49 Now covers, cultivators, plows, binders, selectors, threshing machines, horse-drawn rakes, and other farm machines will be produced this year for the first time in Yugoslavia, at the new "Pobeda" Fetm Machinery Factory, lb Novi Bad in the Vojvodina. At this factory, which began operatic- in 1948, selectors ffarm machines for oiean:,vg grain seea!) are now being serially produced for the first time in Yugoslavia. Designs have been com- pleted at this plant for mowers, another new item in Yugoslavia. This factory has taken over the "Vojvodina" and'Vojvodjanska Livnica" (Tojrodiba Fons.Lry) farm machinery factories in Novi Bad, both of which still operate in their old buildings. The new factory, which is still under ?eonatruction, is located well on the outskirts of Novi Sad where there is space for further expansion. One main hall with modern machinery is now in operation, and a fomndry will begin operations very soon. The workers from 'the crowded and unhealthful "VojvodjanSka Livnica" viii move into these modern quarters as soon as they are ready. The now selectors are better than their counterparts made abroad because the machines are constantly being perfected. The use of cheap cast iron instead of brie and tamper castings for sale looks and crankshaft bearings has been Mt tod at the factory. A model of a press is now being constructed, by which or, many as 100,000 holes per square meter can be punched in drums for selectors by a few str*es, Instead of by boring each hole individually, as is now being done. 3!W FARM MACHIM PRO ZEMOM PLANT -- Borba, No 71, 24 Mar 49 The new types of farm machinery to be serially produced at the "Zmj" Factory in Zeman this year include reapers, binders, and elevators. Lash yeast' email reapers, one of which out 8,000 kilograms of wheat in 10 hours ware supplied by this factory to many rural districts. Such reapers are ,very satisfactory on muddy fields because of their lightness. The proto- ,typo of a large reapers which can now 25,000 kilograms of grain in 10 hours %has been made at this factory, a several such reapers have been delivered since production was initiated at the beginning of January. ;.ate in 1948, the production of plows for rice fields was begun, and 'ay now enough have been mmxfacuur.,d to fill Thgoslav needs. A rotary cutter which does the work of 500 men in cutting canals has also been produced. It is now in use in the 9'ojvodim, '-ith increased capacity, equipped with two rptors, will be manufactured this year. They will be particularly useful an the building sites of the Danube-Tina.-Danube Canal. About 65 percent of the workers at the "Zmaj" Factory are teen-agora.
