Three hundred copies of the fifth issue of Sinkiang Culture, an illustrated
cultural magazine published in Shang-hai, by the Sinkiang Propaganda Committee,
have been sent to Ti-hua to be distributed to various agencies, organizations,
leaders, and to each district in southern Sinkiang. A second batch will be
shipped to Va-ch'eng (Wu-ehih) to circulate among the people of the different
races there.
Contents of this issue include pictures of General Chang's inspection tour
of various places in southern Sinkiang and general information on the prorinoe's
industrial, cultural, and physical cultural activities.
The sixth issue. now oa~tug printe' in Shang-hat, will contain repor'.s on
iroriauia'. reorganization, ~aimal husbandry, cultural odu,3ation, and, the life
hf re,,.gious ri? rice. The Sinkiang Propaganda Committee is expending 350,000
yuat.:,or the oublioatlon of this issue which should be out at an early date.

Increased membership is ceing sought by the newly organized Youth Friendsl4.p
Association in Ti-hua. It is reported that this group, organized by some 50
individudle, has already held a second preparatory meeting and completed the
draft of itc by-lass.
During the marberrhip campaign which begins tomorrow, anyone wishing to
join may register with the advisory section of the Chinese Cultural Association.

The Sinkiang Provincial Government has accepted the Uzbek Cultural
Association's proposal of using tvo members, selected on the basis of excellent
education and experience, in government service. It is reported that K'a-eau-
mu-fa Ssu-ma-1 will serve on the provincial council, vhile the appointment of
A-k'c=po-erh-fu A-pu-tu-chia-1i-mu has not yet been made effective.
