Navigation opened 5 April 1949 on the Lugs and Oreaezn rivers. Passenger
service opened 6'Apr1l 1949 an the Rkilok-Tolmaahevo Line. The Leningrad
Oblast Administration for thi Dwrolopment of Small Rivers for Tranoport plans
to ops4.r,ew passenger lines this Fusser on Vuoksi lake between Priozersk and
Gary and between Priozersk and Mazneohnoye.

R?upekeya opened passenger traffic. On 27 March the Diesel freighter Azarbayydzhan
and the passengsr staasrs, Tbilisi and Pa lik Morpzov, left for Xherscn. The
stoaaasr Alma-Ala took 6 barges to DRepropetrovak. The steamer Akademik itrylov
left Dnepropetrovsk for Kiev with barges of coal and salt,
The Don River is clear of ice as far as Bogeyevskaya Quay. The steamer
2uriy Dolgav?ak9.y arrived at Iblekhovskgya from Rostov. Passenger traffic has
opened on the Rostov-Azov-Bagal'nik line.

Water-transport workers of Leningrad Oblast are getting ready for spring
navigatim on small rivers had have repaired any barges and power-driven
vessels ahead of schedule. Several barges are being repaired at the Pasha
ShiWard, and one 150-passenger cutter at the Tolmaohevo landing. Theso
vessels will be ready by spring.

wood-borniag we-generator tugboat (gasokhod). In 1950, all power driven vessels
of the Tikhv1n Office will be equipped with gas generator: and converted

The Moscow Administration of the Bydrometeorological Service reports that
toe flow has bean in the upper part of. the Moskva River. The river has
already been cleared of too in the vieiiity of Noshaysk. Ice still remains
in the river at Lvenigarod, but there are 1srxP cranks. The :tvdrometeorc-
logieal Service predicts that the too flow will begin an 9-10 April within
the city limits. On 7 April the water level at Mozhaynk increased 9 centiaeters

between 0800 and 1400, 8 centimeters in that time at Zvenigorod, and 7
at Pavehin. The Nara, Lucha, and Istra rivers have been cleared, but the
