SIX NEV ANTITUBEitCULAB :DISPENSARIES TO BE OPENED
Six new antitu*ircular dispensaries will be opened on 30 April by the
Minister of Public Health at Bucharest, Cariova, Iasi, Sate blare, and
Gradinarl Commune (Ilfov Judet). The new dispensaries will orgar.'ze, direct,
and execute antituberoular treatments, will direct the detection of TB, and
will vaccinate with BCG. The dispensaries will organize and control anti-
tubercular institutions such as evening clinics, TB sections of hospitals,
and of grade-one and grade-two eanatoriumo.
The dispensaries will treat ambulatory cases, will screen the sick, and
will send the afflicted to the sanatoriums or TR scions of hospitals (in
Bucharest, this operation will be performed in the tuberculosis screening
centers). The dispenoaries will also supervise home isolation and treatment
of the s ck, which constitutes a totally new method of treatment which we have
devised in this field; the dispenser.',es will be in close contact with all other
health institutions -- polyclinics, hospitals, etc.. A card file will be kept of
all TB cases and of all persons who have come in contact with these rases. The
dispensaries will popularize antituberoular measures and will co.iduct sanitary
educPtion. They will work In eon unction with the provisory committees and
group organizations.
The antituberoular dispensaries will be equipped with two consultation
rooms aid staffed with five phudibiologists and six to tan n'rses, who will
make calls throughout the rural areas. There are also as X-:ay section, with
a doctor and a laboratory assistant; a children's clinic, with a pediatrician;
a nose-throat-ear section, with a doctor and a nurse; and a section for TB of
the bones and Joints, with surgical T.pecialist.
The di.spensarias also have a station with six to ten bade for those who do
not require confinement but still need medical attention. The sick will not
stay more than 10 days in these stations.
Two antitubercular dispensaries rill be opened in Bucharect on 30 April;
one at the former maternity home is Th Speranta Street, and the other at
42 Fartunei Street in Grivita. An antituberoular center will be reopened at
the "23 August" Plant.
