OIL INDUSTRY GETS 11W PARTS -- Vechernyaya Moskva, No 79, 4 Apr 49
Klimentlyev, chief plant enginemr, anmunced today the mass production
of now spigot couplings for pump hoses used in the petroleur industry. These
couplings were formerly imported, but now Machine Plant No 12 of the Ministry
of the Petroleum Industry will manufaoturo than. In April, the plant will
put out another new product, a sectional bit used for petroleum and gee
exploratory drilling.

Worker-s of the "Oornyak" Machine-Building Plant in Butaisi have improved
,the design of the AS-2 electric mine locomotive by completely equipping it with
explosion-proof electrical equipment.
The Improved locomotives have been sent to the Dor to Basin, and the plant
will begin manufacturing them for pecwgian coal mines during the third quarter
1949.

The Perovo Machine-Building Plant with a group of Moscow enterprises has
begun the construction of escalators for the second section of the Outer Belt
of the Moscow Subway. The first three escalators will be installed in the
Botanical Garden Station.

The "Maahinostroitel'" (Machine-Building) Plant imeni L. M. Kaganovich
fulfilled the first quarter plan ahead of schedule and produced three exca-
vators, two automatic cranes, five universal woodworking machines, and 40
tons of spare parts above plan. It released 250,000 rubles of working capital
during the first quarter.

The Khabarovsk "Avtoremles" Plant, which produces, among other things,
floating equipment for timber managements, railroad bolts, and piston tinge,
ociplated the first quarter plan on 19 March. In 2 months, the plant gave
the State 92,000 rubes in above-plan accumulations. The plant expects to
realize in 1949 "a lase than 450,000 rubles in above-plan accumulations
and to release 332,000 rubles of working capital to the State.

The Khabarovsk Machine-Building Plant imeni Kaganovich fulfilled the
fl-ao.quarter plan 123.7 percent and increased production output 2.3 time
over the first quarter 1948. Labor productivity has increased 40 percent over
1948 and the turnover of working capital has been accelerated 38 days. The
pleat is now producing one ruble, 92 kopeks of production per ruble of working
capital invested, whereas in 1948 it produced only one ruble, 23 kopekI of
goods. Costs of finished production have decreased 18 percent more than the
level of the first quarter 1948.
IKABAROYBK PLANT STARTS PW PRODUCTION -- Tikhookeeaskaya Zvezda, No 71,

The Khabarovsk Machinery Plant of "Olavvoetokrybtara" (Main Adminiatra-
ticn of the Eastern Fish-Packing Materials Industry) recentlq,received an
order to produce a large con.ignment of BR-150 fish pumps ad has already
completed a large number of them. The capacity of each puivp is 25 tone of
fish per hour and each substitutes for 32 workers. The plant also produces
gong save, fuel tanlvrd, and equipment for the fishing in(Lustry.

The Machinery Plant of Yerevan Local Industry fulfilled the first quarter
plan 101.8 percent. The average productivity of each worker increased 27 per-
cent over the plan, The pleat haw pledged to fulfill the five-Peer Plan in
4 years and is striving to improve production in the second quarter. The
workers pledged to complete the April plan 130 percent, to save 5 percent of
material and fuel, and increase labor productivity 13 perce.,. Thn production
quota for the first seek in April was consequently exceeied. !rose production
for this period emountod to 24,000 rubles above plan.
