THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
The Kiev Institute of the Civil Air Fleet imeri S. E. Voroehilov is accepting
students for the beginning and senior courses. The Institute trains mechanical engi-
neers for the operation of aircraft and aircraft engines.
Soviet male ritizeno, between 17 and 35, who have completed secondary school
education, are admittei to the Institute. Entrance examinations are required in
mathematics, phyaice, chemidtry, Russian language and literature, and one foreign
language (English, German, or French). Applications may be filed from 20 June to
:i1 July.
All. atuients of th, institute receive tree tuition and subeily for living ex-
p=een and uniform. Students with grades of good or excellent receive scholarships.
A group of pilots have completed their training under the Tashauz Oblast Or-
ganizational Bureau of DOSAV in Turkmen M. The majority of the graduates re-
ceived high grades In the course.
Two DOSAV groups recent' completed training in parachute circles under the
auspices of Kiyevskiy Bayon Organizational Bureau of the Moscow DOSAV.

A DOFaRK all-Union abort-wave radio competition was hell in the UBSR. Radio
clubs and radio operators from Mosctra, Ileniugrad, Kiev, Minsk, Cor,kiy, Odessa,
Shaberc:vsk, Arihengellsk, Teroalavl,, Frunze, Riga, Tallin, and other cities
participated.

The first Ler1r ad Oblast DOSARM conference was held on 15 Mae. V. Turehaninov,
chairman o# the crganiaation bureau of Leningrad. Oblast DOSARk, reported that D08ARK
organizations had been set up in enterprises, institutes, sovkhoeee and kolkhozes of
the oblaet. Various groups which arc stulying military affairs are operating success-
fully.
The oblaet committee of D';15A1 f was elected at uio conference and V. Turch~alnov
vas chosen as chairman.

A grand at sting vas held by the Academy of Artillery Science in honor of V. G.
Fedor"v, designer of the first Russian autosatic rifle, in connection with his 75th
birthday. The resting was opened by General-loytenent of Artillery A. Blagonravov,
President of the Academy. M. Gurevioh, correaponding somber of the Aoadesp of artil-
lery Science, read a report on the life and scientific activity of Fedorov, who has
devoted 50 years to strengthening Russian military power. His most important in-
vention was the automatic rifle in 1912.
Congratulations were read at the end of the meeting, 'noluding telegrems from
Chief Marshal of Artillery Voronov, the Collegima of the Ministry of Armaments,
the Academy of Sciences USSR, military aead aiea, and othe:e.
