In the automobile factory at Mlada Bolealav the absentee rate was 16
peroent in January of this year. By February the rate had dropped to 13 per-
cent, and in March vas only 9 percent.
This reduction yes accomplished by talking to each worker and pointing
out how absenteeism injures not only the national economy but also the worker

in newly established birth centers. In Prague Kral there are now 462 women
obstetric assistants, of which 524 are 55 years old or mote.

There are B,545 elementary schools in the Czech Provinces, attended by
679,709 students. A total of 341.878 pupils attend 1,821 high schools in the
Cz?+oh Provinces.
Schools with at least one class are being set up in villages which would
ordinarily be too email for schools. There are 902 schools with less than
20 pupils each In the Czech Provinces.
