Lose of cotton in kolkhozes of Ak-Xurganskiy Rayon, Tashkent Oblast, has
been so extensive -- as mach as l+ - 2 oentnere per heaters -- that the Bureau
of the TeK KP(b) Uzbekistan has made the following decrees: Karimov, First
Secretary of the Ak-Kurganskiy Rayon party committee and Mirkhanov, chairman
of the executive committee of the Rayon Soviet of Workers' Deputies are
severely reprimanded for allowing losses; it losses are not eradicated within
the next few days, stronger measures will be tatsn-v4ptimt the two leaders.
The Ak-Kurganekiy party and executive comaittees will be required within
the next few days to organize collection of cotton fromfields, roads, aid all
areas .here loss -has occurred. Since losses were particular, great on
fields worked by sections and brigades which have been fulfilling the cotton
harvesting plan, the Rayon committee and executive committee must see to it
that these sections and brigades are given additional tasks in the harvest,
which must be acc__.plished Without the slightest lose.
The Ministry of State Control Uzbek SSR (Minister, Tuldaghev) must
inspmct the progress of the efforts made against cotton losses on all
kolkhozes in Ak-Kurganskiy Rayon and hold the guilty persons responsible
in accordance with the law. The Ak-Kurganakiy Rayon party committee and
executive committee must send their workers to kolkhozes to take measures
against cotton losses.
TADZHIK PLANS INCREASED COTTON HARVEST TR 1949 -- Kcmolunist Tadzhikistan,

Leading kolkhozes and party and soviet organizations in leading rayons
of the Tadzhik SSR have appealed for an increase in the gross cotton harvest
in 1949 to 350,000 tons for the whole Republic. A large uortion of land
now cult'_vated with grain and other crops will be sown with cotton for the
1949 harvest. The present rate of the 1948 harvest indicates that the goal
of 300,000 tons will be fulfilled. Kolkhozes and sovkhozee throughout the
Republic harvested nearly 4,000 tons in one day, 30 September.

the best results among the three Kirgiz oblasts engaged in silkworm-raising
Kirgizia occupied second place in the LT$9R in 1948 for the delivery of
silk cocoons, being outdistanced only by Turkmenistan. ash Oblast obtained
four percent more cocoons were delivered this year than in 1947. Not a

In 1947,, kolkhozes of Cherkasskiy Rayon, Ukrainian Sffi, had the highest
kok-eagyz yield in the USSR. The average yield per hectare at "Chervonyy
Partiza." Kolkhoz was 40 centners of kok-sagyz root.
BAST FI R PLANTS COMPLETE PLANS-- Sovetskaya Kirgiziya, No 212, 24 Oc+ 48
The Kara-Bill ak Bast Fiber Plant in Frunze Oblast completed the 1948 plan
on 8 October and has pledged to produce above the plea an additional 50 tons
of new bast fiber, realizing 140,000 rubles in above-plan profits.
The Dzhangi-Pakhtinskiy Bast Fiber Plant completed the month plan on
17 October and has pledged to complete the annual plan by 7 November.
