A Council of Trade Unions is being set up in the Armenian 88R in aooordanoe
with a decree of the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions. The organizational

Rhachatryan. Armenian enterprises and institution whose factory and plant
coamitteee are diroctly .subordinate to central trade union oo ittees in
Noscow are meeting-to choose delegates to the forthcoming trade union con-
ference. These enter'priaee include those of light, food, gust%torv, mash_ne-
tool buiLiing, cheaioal; textile, pol7grs hic, and, oommunioatione industries,
Yerevan streetcar system, canneries, railroad transport, and others. The
conference will be h.lb on 25 Ootobez and will elect the staff of the Council
of Trade Unions of the Armenian SSR.

A Council of Trade Unions is being organized in the Georgian SSR in
accordance wi.h a decree of the All Union Central Council of Trade Unions.
An organizational bureau has been created in Georgia to prepare for and
conduct a Republic trade union conference to be held on 15 November at which
the Republic Council of Trade Unions will be elected.. Elections of delegates
to the conference are now, being held in plenums of Republic and central
cede union com itteea and also in factory-plant and local co*itteenlin
those enterprises and institutions vhdch do not have a trade union association
In the Republic (for example the Plant imeai Dimitrov, Plant imeni Lirev,
metallurgical, and automobile plants).
Thirteen of the 36 central and Republic trade union cowittees in the
Georgian SSR have already elected delegates to the conference, and 20 of
the 67 factory.plant and local committees have hold their elections. Delegates
to the conference include well-known etakhanovites, leading production chiefs,
