At the transition to plowing soft earth, MTSe had completed 47.5 percent
of the year plan for tractor work.
The plan for repair of agricultural machinery was completed by Me as
fo3Lo a: threshing machines, 81 percent; combines, 93 percent; koikhoz
machinery -- moving machines, 87 percent; self-unloading reaping machines,
34 percen'c; and binders, 14 percent.

The. plan. for average daily carloadings on railroole of the Republic was
fulfilled 105.7 percent daring limy, including 112.6 percent for construction
materials, 88 percent for cement, 163.6 percent for flour, 144.8 percent for
cotton seeds, 112.6 percent for cotton fiber, arc 63.5 percent for salt. Acing
April and May, 56 percent of the second-quarter plan for capital oonstruction
in estimated 1949 prices was completed, including 57 percent for Union enter-
prises and 48 percent for Republic enterprises. In comparison with the corre-
?epanding period of 1948, the volume of capital. construction increased 93 percent.
The various al nistries and departmonte fulfilled the second-quarter plan daring .
As of 1 May, 64 percent of the second-quarter plan for retail-trade tarr.-
over had been completed. The various ministries and departments had completed
the plan as follows:
