The Department for Industrial Crops of the Federal Scientific
Research Institute, in addition to its current work on improved techniques
for growing hgmp, on testing and selection of hemp seed, and on testing
the hardiness or certain varieties of hemp, is undertaking thorough
research oxA certain sew industrial plants never grown in Y'ugoslaxla before.

a special department of the Institute.
Tea seed alto has been obtained and is being tested and studied with a
view to large-scale production in Dalmatia and Montenegrin PrimcrJe.
Experimentel plantings, containing a large proportion of rubber, have
been made in testing plots at the Institute. The reelilte show that they can
be grown in Yugoslavia, but that much more thorough study and experiment will
be needed. lUperimental plantings of koa-sage7 at the Institute have proved
that yields of as mach as 15 kilograms of pure rubber per hectare ma be
obtained in Yugoslavia.
