According to the order of the Council of Ministers of the USSR of 28 may 19119,
the Ministry of Public Health in 1949 - 1951 will publish the mnltivoluae work,
Soviet Medical Experience in World War II (500,000 copies). The State Publishing
House for Medical Literature has already began this work. Several volttmes will be
published this year.
The work will consist of four sections: "Surgery," `Therapy," "Spidemiology
and Eygiene," and "Pathology of War Wounds." Section 1 will consist of 15 divisions,
devoted to war wounds of various regione, organs, and tissues of man. Section 2,
embracing 12 divisions, will be de"oted to the consideration of the characteristics
of the genesis, course, treatment, and prevention of dlseasee'.?of the lungs, h,ert,
reseels, kidneys, etom*nh, and lix.,r; diseases relative to dietetics; end skin,
venereal, nervous, and acute infectious diseases. Section 3, in four divisions,
discusses the epidemiological state of the troops in various periodn of the war;
the organization of a;;tlepidemic protection of the troops; epidemiology and the
prevention of certain infections; the hygiene of the food and :rater supply for
the troops, aviation hygiene, naval hygiene, hygiene for armored troops, eta.
Section 4 discuss9s the mechanism of the action of shells, the nature end patho-
genesis of traumatic processes, and the condition responsible for developing
complications at various stages of evacuation.
