Chekiang-Kiangsi Front, 11 July 1949, (NCNA) -- The various unite of
the Second Field Army of the Liberation Forces are usii-g lulls in battle to
undergo special training in mountain and paddy-f?.eld fighting. Troupe who
gained a srience in the South Kiangeu campaign are being employed as
instructors in the new training rrogrnm,
SEPJ JNG CCF NEUTRALIZES BANDITS -- Ta Kung Pao, 29 Jul 49
Chi-nan, 28 July 1949 (NCNA) -- To preserve peace in the rear areas,
the Shantung armed forces are now eztenaively argagin' in neutralizing
bandits in Shantung. From April to Juze, 37 baeiu of numbering
842 men, have been completely wiped out. Of the 842, 578 were captured
alive, 21 were killed, and 243 voluntarily surrendered. During these
engagements, 3 mortars, 3 light machine guns, 28 Thompson enhmachir gums
and carbines, 680 rifles, and other weapons were captured from the
ba w.Its.
