dustry with the necessary construction equipment. It imports these machines
or obtains them by placing orders in the domestic factories. The import orders
have been filled promptly; but the domestic plants have lagged. The following
are some plants which did not fulfill their quotas:
The Roessemann-Harmatta Machine Factory offerefi as an excuse for not
supplying the ordered convoyers the fact that there was ac shortage of rubber
belts, iron, and ball bearings. The Donath Machine Factory did not deliver
the required power oarth packers because of a lack of materials and skilled
workers. The Poper- onto Crape:A filled another order instead.. The Hungar-
ian Chemical Industry Machin Factc'ry and the Jeno Heroz Machine Factory have
not delivered a single dump cart. The Markus Machine Factory has i,t filled
the order for block and tackle rigs.

Matyas Rakosi has criticized the production lag of the gistext Textile
Mill. The plant managers have vowed improved production and less waste in
order to meet the :egcirements of the three-year plan.
- Average weekly production of the spinning mill for the first quarter of
the year was 1,060 kilograms per spinning machine. This will be increased to
1.120 kilograms during the second half of the year. Waste will decrease from
1.11 percent to 0.75 percent. Production per spindle per hour will increase
f c n 16.7c rang to 17.5 grams.

Endre Bereczh-y, assisted by Jeno Beck, has developed a new type of light-
weight cement. Its use will result in 30 - 35 percent savings in time.
The new cemont is so light that it can be user for roof structures. This
will eliminate the usage of wood, previously ?mpvr:ed, and will affect a
savings in foreign exchange.
