Sixteen of the restored pits are already producing at a rate of 100 percent above the estimated p-oductior. At this mine, there are three open-cut areas, of which one is being enlarged, anotaer has begun producing, and the third is being opened. Production at this mine has increased in 1949 from 42,000 tons in January to 110,000 tons in April dnd 201,000 tons in May. The planned output for the year is 1,500,000 tone, but the total may reach 1,800,000 tone. This production increase has been due both to large experd+tures by the authorities to increase personnel and equipment and to the fine --',it of the miners, disking fire and gas, the workers have in 5 months restored 10,500 meters of tracks in five pits and mined many tens of thousands of tens of coals There have been fires in three shafts.
