A new brick and tile plant has been put, into cperation in Seninakan.
The plant has a yearly production capacity of 500,000 'bricks and one million
tiles.

The "Promet" Plant in Leningrad has produced. the fire:; test model of a
ne-. press for forming silica brick. The p: -)as weighs 26 tons and has a capacity
of 3,000 pieceo T.ar hour.
Reconstruction of the Kokchetav Brick Plant, one of the largest on the
Karaganda Railroad System, has begun. A molding shop a.ul drying room are being
built. The plant will be completely mechanized, thireby releasing 200 workers.
After *odernization, the plant's capacity will be doubler.
The Primorskiy Kray Construction Materials Industry fulfilled the 5-month
plan for production of roofing tile 154 percent, but has still not satisfied the
demand for this product. This year, the tile produced by the industry's Brisk
and Tile Plant No 4 is being shipped to Arts=, Ugoi'naya Station, and Vladivostok.
Other eattrprises in the industry are not working satisfactorily. Tile ohopa in
brick pleats No 2 and 7 are not producing the on a sufficiently wide scale.

Agricultural Administration are not meeting plans for construction of now tile
plants and shops. In order to meet the need, tile output must be sharply increased
and new plants produced. The tile shop in Brick Plant No,4 must be expanded in
order to double output, and new shops meet be constructed in Brick Plants No,2 and
the quality of tile produced and assist plants. in improving technology. Teats
should be carried out in Plant No 4 on mailing tile from grey refractory clay, of
which there are large supplies in the kray. Tile from this type of cla;, is
distinguished by its durability, extreme water ana frost resistance, and excellent
color.
