The Rumanian tractor L'iR 22 is powered by a four-cylinder, four-cycle Die-
sel motor which develops 42 horsepower at 1,200 rpm. The motor is sterLad by
gasoline and switches autiatically to Diesel fuel at 900 rpm. Diesel fuel with
60 degree centigrade flash point and 0.887 specific gravity is specified for the
motor. There are five forwrra speedo ant one reverse; fourth and fifth epeods
are locked out on tractors with all-iron wheels which are to be used in agricul-
ture. The.power at he drawbar is 12 percent greater when the tractor to equipped
with rubber tires and not all-iron wheels. At the rear of the taansmieeion case
is a power takeoff with a wheel for a bolt. This wheel, geared to the main axle
by a pair of cogwhebllr is used to run a belt for threshers, save, pumps, etc.

special vaseline for the water pump. With every 50 tractors there. is a special
kit of .oolefor general overhauling. The normal life of a t-ractar is 5,000
hours. Any defects which develop within the first 800 hours are repaired by the
factory at its own expense.
Up to May 19118, the Brazov plant was delivering 55 assembled tractors per
1940 [sic; probably 19482, the plant has been delivering 100 tractors per
month, Almost 900 tractors have been delivered since the Brap-,v lent began
operation.
