The following gives a brief description of the revised state economic or-
ganization under the Law of 10 February 1949 and subsequent amenmeats on the
change of organization affecting the leading economic authorities.
A. Economic Committee of the Council of Ministers (Komitet Ekonomiczny Rady
Ministrrv
This is an organ of the Legislat.re created to manage the national economy.
Its meeiberahip consists of the ministere of the ministries listed under "C" and
representatives of organizations :Listed under "H.? -t is not a new body; its
-existence has been me-ei.y confirmed' by the Law of 10 February 1949. Its secre-
tamiat acts in association with the State Economic Planning Ccmpission.
B. State Economic Planning Ccamtiiiaion (Panstwova Komisja Planowania Gospodarczego)
This bcdy was created by the Law of 10 February 1949 to supersede the Central
Planning Board. This law also provides for the dissolution of the ][inistry of
Industry and Trade. The commission is headed by'k chairman, who is also chairman
of the economic Committee -of the Council of Ministers. The law also created
lojewodztwo economic planning boards. The resolution of 22 April 1949 lists all
enterprises under the immediate jurisdiction of the P.K.P.G.
This ccmmission acts jointly with the Chief Com'ission for Socializing
Enterprises and the Secretariat or the Economic Committee of the Council of iin-
isters.

G. Supreme Chagber of Control (Najwyzsza Izba Kontroli)
This body was created by the Constitutional law of 19 February 1947. Its
organization was amended by the Law of 9 March 1949. The Supreme Chamber of Con-
trol is independent of the legislature. Upder the Decree of 6 May 1949, it main-
tains a constant check on all associations and institutions which benefit from
state aid, or which perform duties assigned in the fields of public administration
or nrtional.ocon?y.
