Industry of Azerbaydzhan SSR fulfilled the third-4uarter gross-production
plan 103 percent and increased gross promotion 12 percent over the third quarter
of 1948. The groee-produotion plan was fulfilled by individual ministries and

As of 10 October, the tobacco-picking plan had been fulfilled 106 percent;
80 percent of the plan for plowing for vintc_ crops, including fallow land,'and
45 percent of the plan for plowing for 1950 spring grain had been completed.
Four percent of the plan for autumn and winter tractor repair has been completed
by ME a.
Belokanekly, 7akatal'akiy, ?angel.anekly, Seatlinakiy, Zerdobekiy, and
lenkoranekiy rayons are lagging seriously in plowing for winter crops. This work
is proceeding at schedule'in Aetrmkhanbazarskiy, IemailllnekIy, A?el'badzffirakiy,
Kubatlinakiy, Sizamindkiy, Piaahkiuakiy, Sem kbskiy, 8hemakhinskiy, +anlarakly,
and a number of other rayons.
The third-quarter plan for average daily car loe4 ng on the republic's rail-
roads was fulfilled 109 percent, including: 91a perce tt for pets ole'.=, 111 percent
for construction materials, 98 partsnt for cement; 168 percent fom gran, 177 per-
cent for transfer of cargo to merit" a shipping, 100 percent for flour, and 139
percent for cotton.

The third-quarter retail trade turnover plan was fulfilled 85 percent, includ-
ing 86 percent for retail turnover in the trade system and 84 percent for turnover

The third-quarter plan for petrol-,m refining wee eacesdell, enl the "8thlianeft'"
and "Buzovnyneft'" Trusts extracted may tons of petroleum above plan. -The lagging
trustsR however, particularly "!(olotovneft'" "Ordzhonikidzeneft'," and "Kagmvioh-
neft', have fallen so far'short of the plan as to discount the above-plan production
of the leading enterprises.
The construction rate at the ingechaur CM project has been slowed and the
general lag in capital construction throughout the republic must be made up in the
next quartet.
