On 2'~ - 31 January 1947 the Moscow Institute of Chemical Apparatus
Construction hold a soientiflc-technical conference. At the plenary
soseions reports were submitted by' Direotor of the Inetltuv~ I. 2e. P11'-
e}ciy, "Results of Scientific Research Bork Sn 1946 and the Outlock for 1947,"
Prof 0. A. Tulin, "Analysis and Synthesis of tho Planetary-Gear Reducer";
Correapo~ing Member of the Aoada~y of Sciences S. Z. Rogilnekiy, "Physico-
ohemioal Basis of the Teohniquo of Preparing Active Contacts a~ Catalysts";
and Docent i,. ia. ~1nov, "The Direction of Foreign Technology 1n the Fibld
of Chemically Stable Materials."
The greater part of the reports were read and discussed under the fol-
lowinK oategoriee: machines and apparatus of the chemical i~uetry (14 pap~re),
mechanics (10), chemistry a~ chemical technology {24), paver (13 ), and humea-
itarian saleaode (5).
The reports pointed out the mothodological work of the various chairs
of the Snetitute, mentioning special topiae which illustrated the research
being oarr:ed out, and theoretical and practical work being conducted in the
field of chemical-apparatus conatruotton asd chemical technology.
At the oonalustlon of the ge~ral conference and individual sessions,
the growth of the eaientlfic research work involving urgent problems of the
postwar period was etree~ed. Further tasks were planmd, especially in rat
lation to solving certain problems of a complex nature.
