P_t the Moscow Copper-Smelting Plant imeni V. M. Molotov, shop chief
Petrov, techaolo 1st Bratchikov, and Solovyev, scientific director of the
"Gintsvetmet" Mate Institute of Nonferrous Metals, Nava discovered new
colloidal additives for electrolytic solutions by which the yield of cathode
metal Se considerably increased. Tha new additive is called the Petrov
contact additive. By using it, the average yield of metal in July we
95 percent, which is substantially more than ewn th4 bast achievements of
other USSR plants. Some brigades have brought the yield to as high as
95.5 portent.

plan for recovery of metal nor for metal concentrates. The Sokol'nyy
Mine (director, kilkin) of the combine is also lagging in the utilization
of equipment. Despite the abundance of machinery at the mine, mechaniza-
tion of cutting and clearing operations is on an extremely low level.
