production plan, failed to meet the third-quarter quantitative production plan for
the following items: Ministry of Timber Industry Moldavian 885 -- furniture by 24
percent and timber hauling by 40 percent; Ministry of Light Industry Moldavian SOB --
chrome leather goods by 16 percent; Ministry of Meat and Dairy Industry Moldavian
S85 -- cheese by 16 percent; Ministry of Food Industry Moldavian 885 -- be_* ry
products by 11 percent confectionery by 9 percent, grape vine by 30 percent, non-
alooholio beverages by 49.5 percent, and fish catch by 6 percent; Ministry of Local
Industry Moldavian 888 -- galvanized pots and pans by 32 percent, alumina pots and
pans by 36 percent, brick by 7 percent, tile by 83 percent, household soap by 54
percent, vegetable oil by 15 percent; Main Administration of Construction Materials

Cities subordinate to the republic fulfilled the third-quarter gross-production
plan as follows: Bendery -- 116 percent; Tiraspol' -- 115 percent; Sishlnev -- 111
percvat; Bel'tey -- 107 percent; &tgul -- 88 percent; Soroki -- 86 percent; and
Orgeyev -- 80 percent. The cities of Bel'tay, Tiraspol', Kishinev, and Bendery
fulfilled the gross-production plan but failed to most the plan for quantitative
production of main types of goods.
The Kishinev Railroad System fulfilled the third-quarter plan for average daily
loading 111 percent, including 102.5 percent by the first division (Bessarabekaya
Station) and 128 percent by the second division (Kishinev Station). Average daily

loading in the third quarter 1949 increased 40 percent over the third quarter 1948,
including an increase of 33.5 percent in loading petroleum products and 61 percent
in loading timber.
The Administration of the Dneetr River Pleat and waterways of the Council of
Ministers Moldavian SSE fulfilled the third-quarter plan for freight transport 61
percent and for passenger transport 60.5 percent.
The Ministry of Automobile Transport Moldavian SSR fulfilled the third-quarter
freight-transport plat. 91 percent.
The third-quarter plan for centralized capital inveatment was fulfilled 79 per-
cent in the republic as a whole, including 77 percent for Republic and local con-
struction projects and 83 percent for Union projects. Individual ministries and
orgahizations fulfilled the third-quarter plan as follows:

Industry Moldavian SIR, Communal Eoonogy, Agriculture, Automobile Transport, and

The third-quarter plan for retail trade turnover was fulfilled 95 percent, in-
oluding 95 percent for turnover in the trade network and 96 percent for turnover
in public eating enterprises. In the city of Rlehinev, 86 percent of the turnover
plan was ooepleted. Among enterprises of the Administration of Local Trade, 1bgul
City Trade fulfilled 82 percent of the plan and the Dining Hall and Restaurant
Trust 84 percent.
In the Moldavian Consumers' ibion, 26 rayon consumers' unions failed to meet
the third-quarter plan for retail trade turnover. The Tedinetekiy Rayon Consumers'
tlsion fell short of the plan by 12 percent, tperchenekiy Rayon tbion by 11 percent,
Ieavskiy Rayon Union by 11 percent, and the T.arpinenskiy Union by 7 percent.
