This article pre- sents t;=A results of ea-periN}ents conducted at th~~ :~{.: Clinic, Acadeatiy oY Medical Sci.eaces USSP.. DFP belongs to the c1e~s of alkaloids of the choline aeries, acts on the cholinesterase, aad is a media~or of nerve activity. At the same: time it causes spasms of the nonstriated muscles, nesiccates weasels, and de- cx?esaes the flow L~f body flnid.s. It is very active; data shoxs that it is five times more active than eceriar,, produces prolonged siyoais is man and animals, and !:~usas spasm of accoa~odatior+ and pains in the ciliary tissues. Same of the manifestations are headaches, and prolo:ged infection of the conaunc~tiva. A DFP solution with avegetable-oil base is more stable and leas toxic than a sclution with an aqu;ous base. gxgeriments stare conducted on 21+ patients (30 eyes): 14 eyes with chronic E-,laucoma, seven with decompensation, three with acute parwgsms, an3 five with absolute glaucoma. Tieatmeat began with two drops of 0.1-percent solution oY DFP in a vaseline base, but due to many undesirable effects it ?sa changed to as 0.05-percent solution with simultaneous padding of the eye. We attempted to determine the quality of the DFP and Its place in the general classification of myotic aubataaces by simultaneous complex tests oa the dynamics oY intraocular pressure, variations is the diameter of the pupil, and size of the blind spot. It ass possible to conduct campimetric studies on only 12 of the eyes. It was impossible in the other cases due to the presence of atrophic scotoms, acute or~chronic glaucoma.
