RSFSR
The Presidium of the Supreme Soviet RSFSR has issued ukases for the follow-
ing territorial-administrative changes.
According to two 15 November 1949 ukases, the village of Derbinskoye is
renamed Tymovskoye village, and the rayon center of Kuvandykskiy Rayon, Chkalov
Oblast, is transferred from Mednogorsk city to Kuvandyk. settlement. (1)
According to two 9 December 1949 ukases, the city of Monchegorsk, Murnansk
Oblast, is transferred to oblast subordination, and Monchegorskiy Rayon, Murmansk
Oblast, is liquidated and its territory transferred to the administrative sub-
ordination of the Monchegorsk City Soviet of Workers' Deputies.
By ukase of 26 November 1949, the following rayon centers are transferred:
Tokkinskiy Rayon, Yakut ASSR -- from Kopro village to Tokko village
Tomponskiy Rayon, Yakut ASSR -- from Kyulyunken village to Tompo village
Yetkul'skiy Rayon, Chelyabinsk Oblast -- from Korkino city to Yetkul' village
Karaginskiy Rayon, Koryak National Okrug, Kamchatka Oblast, Khabarovsk Fray --
from Karaga village to Ossora workers' settlement. (2)
Yelizovskiy Rayon, in Kamchatka Oblast, Khabarovsk Kray, is created, and
Borisoglebskiy Rayon, in Voronezh Oblast, is liquidated by two 17 November 1949
ukases. (3)

Azerbaydzhan SSR
The Presidium of the Supreme Soviet Azerbaydzhan SSR has issued ukases
for the following territorial-administrative changes.
According to two 5 August 1949 ukase;, the city-type settlement of Terter,
in Terterskiy Rayon, is reconstituted a city of rayon subordination and renamed
Mir-Bashir, and Terterskiy Rayon is renamed I'lir-Bashirskiy Rayon. (4)
The planning of the villages of Alakel, Ashaga-Kushchi, Koblyar, and Dyuz-
Gyrykhly, in Tauzskiy Rayon, has been completed. (5)
By ukase of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet Latvian SSR of 31 December
1949, the territorial division of the Latvian SSR into uyezds and volost's is
abolished and the following rural rayons, subordinate to the republic, created:
