DATE OF INFORMATION 1948 Vestnik mashiaostroyeniya, No 3, 1948, STALINETS-6 TRAILER COMBINE STATE ARMY In 1947, the reactivated Soviet combine-building plants Rostsel'mash and Kommunar began regular production of a new trailer combine, the Stalinets-6. One of the basic tasks which faced the designers of this combine was the construction of a machine the traction resistance of which would conform to the power of the S10 -NATI domestic tractor. In order to decrease traction resistance, the diameter of the drive wheels was increased to 1,500 millimeters and that of the gauge wheel to 900 millimeters. The width of all wheel rims was brought to 375 millimeters. The capacity of the hopper was decreased from 2.18 to 1.8 cubic meters. This lowered the traction resistance and made it possible to attach two Stalinets-6 trailer combines to the SKhT7.-NATI tractor, running in second gear. For better utilization of the combine when harvesting high-yield grains (25-35 centners per hectare) at a normal speed, the cut of the header was decreased from 20 to 16 feet (4.9 meters). fin$eTTshe cutting apparatus of the combine is equipped with three low..cutting The Rostsel'mash plant is producing hay and chaff stackers for the Stalinets-6 combine to carry out continuous gathering of hay and chaff in stacks of 15 cubic meters. Immediate stacking behind the combine improves the stubble, which is very important from the point of view of good farming. The combine was also equipped with four or five headlights for night opera-' DISTRIBUTION C0Fill SaE'1T1AS Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2011/09/08: CIA-RDP80-00809A000600300126-8 Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2011/09/08: CIA-RDP80-00809A000600300126-8 CONFIC :j!
