MBE TIAL CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE AGENCY REPORT DATE OF INFORMATION 1950 DATE DIST._If Apr 1950 PEIPING AND CANTON BROADCASTING STATIONS ANNOUNCE SCHEDULES AND PROGRAMS PEIPING TO INCREASE FOREIGN BROADCASTS -- Canton Nan-fang Jih-pao, 7 Apr 50 Peiping, 6 April -- The Central People's Broadcasting Station announced that its foreign broadcasts will be increased front 10 April 1950. For this purpose it established the so-called Peiping Broadcasting Station which operates on nave lengths of 428.57, 29.24, and 19.92 meters, and frequencies of 700, 10,260, and 15,060 kilocycles, respectively. Plans are being made to broadcast news in the English, Japanese, Indonesian, Anaamese, Thai, and Burmese languages, as well as in the Amoy, Ch'eo-thou, Hakka, and Cantonese dialects.
