7 APRIL -- Adeverul, No 17,739, 7 Apr 50
The weather for the past 24 hours has continued unsettled, with over-
cast skies. There have been heavy showers in the eastern and southern parts
of Rumania, frequently accompanied by electrical storms. Snow has continued
to fall in the mountains. Yesterday's maximum temperatures (centigrade) were
18 degrees at Oltenia and 7 e.egrees at Predeal. The 0500 temperatures today
were 9 degrees at Turnu-Severin and zero degrees at Bistrita. Yesterday's
temperatures at the Baneasa airport varied between 17 degrees and 8 degrees.
The 0800 temperature was 9 degrees.
Forecast -- For the next 24 hours, the weather will continue unsettled,
with heavily overcast skies. There will be heavy showers in the southeastern
part of the country and intermittent rains in the rest of Rumania, with snow
in the mountains. North and northwest winds, becoming gales locally. Little
change in temperature.

The weather for the past 24 hours has continued mostly wet throughout
Rumania, with snow in the mountains. Yesterday's maximum temperatures (centi-
grade) were 18 degrees at Cernavoda and 9 degrees at Predeal. The 0500 tem-
peratures today were 9 degrees at Calarasi and zero degrees at Zalau and in
the mountains. Yesterday's temperatures at the Baneasa, airport varied between
13 degrees and 6 degrees. The 0800 temperature was 8 degrees.
Forecast -- For the next 24 hours, the weather will remain variable,
with overcast skies in the southern part and partially clear in the rest
of the country. Moderate north and northwest winds, with unchanged tempera-
ture. Local rains probable in the southern part of Rumania.

For the past 24 hours, the weather has been fair and relatively warm
in the Danube Basin and Moldavia. In Transylvania and on the coast, the
weather has been cold and wet, with gentle rains. During the night, rain
began to fall in Moldavia and locally in Muntenia. The wind has been west-
erly, becoming strong at evening. Yesterday's maximum temperatures (centi-
grade) were 20 degrees at Targu-Magurele and 9 degrees at Satu-Mare. The
0500 temperatures today were one degree at Arad and 9 degrees at Baragan.
Yesterday's temperatures at the Baneasa airport varied between 17 degrees
and a degrees. The 0800 temperature was 10 degrees.
Forecast -- For the next 24 hours, the weather will he variable. Moder-
ate southwest winds. Rising temperatures. Heavy local showers, particularly
in the northern part of the country.
In the past 24 hours, there have been heavy thundershowers in the eastern
part of Rumania and rain in the northwestern part of Transylvania. In the
northern part of the Carpathian Mountains, snow has begun to fall.
Forecast -- The weather for the next 24 hours will be generally fair,
with overcast skies in the south and some rain in the north. Moderate south-
west winds. Rising temperatures. Heavy rainfall in the Ardeal and in Moldavia.

fair. Moderate southwest winds. Light, local showers in the mountains and
in the western region.
