On 24 November 1949, the German Democratic Republic issued a decree
whereby people-owned plants producing products of approved quality are per-
mitted to mark such products with "quality emblems."
The right to use these emblems is granted by the German Bureau of
Material and Merchandise Inspection and the German Bureau of Weights and
Standards. A permit is issued which is valid for one year. Permission for
continued use of the emblem must be requested upon expiration.
The following enterprises have been awarded quality emblems for the
products indicated / receding each plant name is the designation of the
Federation of People-Owned Plants to which the plant belongs; the numbers
indicate the serial numbers of the permits]:
