ZAGREB MILL HAS 11 BUILDINGS -- Slovenski Porocevalec, No 120, 22 May 50
The new spinning mill in Zagreb, which was built in 1949, is operating on
three shifts this year. The mill consists of 11 50-meter-long buildings which
are equipped with modern imported machines and hygrostats. Every machine has
its own electric motor. The mill is located in the Svetice industrial settle-
ment, along the trolley-car track not far from the highway and railroad station,
with which it is connected by an industrial track.
The mill is built so that it can be expanded easily. Its capacity is 26
percent of the total capacity of all Croatian spinning mills.
PLANT MAKES PARTS FOR TEXTILE INDUSTRY -- Slovenski Porocevalec, No 122, 24 May 50
The "Utensilia" Textile Parts Factory in Rakovnik in Ljubljana, which pro-
duces 1,000 different parts for the textile industry, will shortly produce special
wooden cards for weaving patterns on fabrics. Anton Carman has constructed a
machine which will drill 26 holes 10 to 15 millimeters apart in these wooden cards.
NEW LUMBER COMBINE TO BEGIN OPERATION -- Slovenski'Porocevalec, No 127, 27 May 50
In Mojkovac on the Tara River a new lumber combine will begin operation
shortly. The following factories of the combine are still under construction:
a parquet flooring factory, a furniture factory, a barrel and packing factory,
and a wagon workshop. Later a vc.ieer factory, a wood wool factory, and a
"heraclite" factory will be added to the combine, which will acquire its power
from the power plant at Musovica Rijeka.

NEW FURNITURE FACTORY IN OPERATION -- Borba, No 89, 15 Apr 5C
Svetozarevo, 14 April -- The "Buducnost" Furniture and Carpentry Factory in
Svetozarevo began operation recently. It will produce 52 different items. The
factory was previously a carpentry shop which employed 17 workers in 1947.
CRYSTAL GLASS FACTORY TO EXPAND -- Slovenski Porocevalec, No 91, 15 Apr 50
The crystal glass factory in Rogaska Slatina will soon acquire a new melting
and glass-grinding shop. On 1 May, a new glass-melting furnace will be in opera-
tion; at the end of 1950, another such furnace will be in operation. This year's
output of crystal glass will be 2.5 times greater than the prewar output, while
the 1.951 output will be 4.5 times greater.
