CONSTRUCTS COAL-DUST INSTALLATION -- Taegliche Rundschau, No 132, 9 Jun 50
Construction of a modern bunker and fueling installation with a capacity
of 100 tons of coal-dust has been started in Halle. Also, a grinding instal-
lation for raw coal is being built and will be in operation in 1950. This in-
stallation will make the Reichsbahn independent of coal-dust deliveries. The
new fueling installation, the first of its kind in the German Democratic Re-
public, can supply about 50 locomotives daily-

The August Bebel Mine in Kreis Zwickau fulfilled its May quota 100.21
percent. It was the only enterprise in the Federation of people-Owned Enter-
prises for Black Coal which fulfilled its quota in May 1950.

The first shaft of the Dober]:ug-Kirchhain black-coal mine struck coal at
114 meters. Coal reserves of the mine are estimated at 65 million tons.
16,000 MINER$ IN WELZOW AREA -- Taegliche Rundschau, No 134, 11 Jun 50
There are approximately 16,000 miners employed in the Weizow brown-coal
mining area.
