The Jelenia Gora branch of IM (Maritime League) conducts 4-month courses
in navigation. Recently, of 42 young students completing a course, ten were
sent to the maritime school in Gdynia for advanced studies. The others will
be sent to various IM centers for further training without charge. These stu-
dent's are 'eligible to be instructors in navigation after completion of their
studies.
The Jelenia?Gora branch also conducts a ship model-building school, the
only one of. its kind in Poland.
TRAINING OF SPECIALISTS IN URSUS--Trybuna Ludu; No 108, 20 Apr 50 ..
The Vocational Training Center at the Ursus Machine Shops is training 900
students for the metal processing industry in the industrial school, the high
school, the industrial lyceum, and the industrial evening lyceum.
Over the past 5 years, the number of students has grown considerably, but
the,number of class rooms, study halls, workshops, etc., has remained'the same.
The iron-works school,is located in the shop for aluminum casting.
The construction of a new center is being planned for 1952.. This center
will accommodate 1,500 students, with living accommodations for 800.
CONSTRUCTS TRADE AND PROFESSIONAL SCHOOL -- Taegliche Rundschau, No 132, 9 Jun 50
The Ruedersdorf' Lime Plant will start construction of a Trade and profes-
sional School for Building Materials in 1950. This school will have six classes
and will be used to train specialists, masters, and engineers for the building
materials trade. A factory training school with four classes, equipped with an
apprentice shop and a laboratory, will be attached to the school.

SACHSEN-ANHALT ESTABLISHES INDUSTRIAL TRAINING SCH00LS -- Taegliche Rundschau,

Fourteen new industrial training schools, with a total capr.city of approx-
imately 1,000 Students, have been opened in Sachsen-Anhalt. Eight additional
schools were established. in people-owned agricultural enterprises and machine-
lending stations.
