KRAJ MILITARY HEADQUARTERS TO SUPPLY CIVILIANS -- Vecni Vestnik Ministerstva

The Ministry of National Defense has issued the following regulations
concerning circulation of military maps among civilian establishments:
1. Kral military headquarters will supply military maps in their own
kraj of 1:10,000, 1:20,000, 1:25,000, 1:50,000, 1:75,000, and 1:200,000 scales

b. Managements of state enterprises
c. Military training organizations (through their krai headquarters)
d. Schools
e. Other civilian public establishments, organizations, and institutions
f. Enterprises of the civilian socialist management sector
2. Kral military headquarters will carry out the delivery on the basis of
the request of the civilian component and in accordance the with
State Planning Office.

It. Military maps of 1:10,000 to 1:200,000 scales retained by kraj military
headquar4ei?a will be ,marked "Con.fidentlal." It will place serial numbers on the
maps, separately according to the type and scale of the maps.

5.. K aj military headquarters will keep records of the maps delivered and
issued in accordance with the type, scale, and number of the rnaps, and specify-
ing when and to whom the map was issued.
6. The civilian components will place their rubber stamps on the maps
delivered and will keep records specifying when and to whom the map was issued.
Military Geographical Institutes will place the "Confidential" mark on
mans delivered to the kraj military headquarters and other military formations
and headquarters, and will keep records specifying when, to whom, and how many
were delivered.
8. Kraj military headquarters will deliver maps to the civilian components
at official prices.
9_ Paragraphs 1, 4, 5, 6, and 8 apply to tourist, geological, soil, auto-
mobile, kraj, and okreu maps, as well.

The sale of military maps of all scales to private civilians (physical or
le.:nl persons) and military personnel will cease immediately. Military recrea-
tion halls will deliver the maps to the appropriate military units for their

Pre.;ue, 13 July -- President Gottwald has ordered that the reorganization
the Czechoslovak Army, being directed by recently appointed Minister of De-
fense Cepicka, be effected as rapidly as possible. The army is being o.;;anize.d
along the lines of the Soviet Army.
In the army newspaper Obrana Lidu, which on 13 July published the first
report on Gottwald's order, Brigadier General Lastovicka, formerly ambassador
Lo Moscow and now Deputy Minister of Defense, writes that the order require-_
that every man in the army seek daily to improve his training aria military
and political insight and to teach himseii' to handle his weapuus with contin-
uously increasing skill. The article is directed particularly to the muturiZv.:

The Gottwaldov Kral Military Headquarters, which had been temporarily in
Kromeriz, has been moved to Gottwaldov, effective 1 May 1950, according to on
announcement of the Ministry of National Defense dated 23 May 1950.
