The currency in circulation in the German Democratic Republic decreased
124 million Deutsche marks during the second 10-day period of June 1950, dropping
to 2,933,000,000 Deutsche marks, and falling below the 3-billion mark for the
first time. The German Notenbank's 20 June statement shows the following:

3,052,000,000 -Deutsche marks during the third 10-day period of June 1950, a
rise of 119.million Deutsche marks.
