The following information has recently been reported relative to the
statue of various trades and industries in Czechoslovakia.
.Fishing
Ceskomoravska Velkoobchodni Spolecnost Rybami (Bohemian-Moravian Whole-
sale Fish Company), Inc, and Vanhova Rybarna, Inc, both at Prague, have been
included in the Rybena?state enterprise as of 1 July 1949, according .to a de-
cree of 12 8'eptember 1949.
Agriculture
The factory in Dooruska has been transferred from the Agroatroj .agricul-
tural machinery factories state enterprise, to the Ministry of Agriculture.
The factory Arnostov has, been transferred from Cesky Kristal (Bohemian
Crystal) glassworks state enterprise..o the Ministry of Agriculture.
The property of the former woodworking corporation Hrib, at Bystrice pod
Hostynem has been transferred from the Moravskoslezske P11y (Moravian-Silesian
Sa ni Le).state enterpris^, to the Ministry of Agriculture.

been transferred from the Odkolek jodkolki 17 state enterprise to the Praz-
eke Cokoladovny (Prague Chocolate Factories) state enterprise.
The Zahorski Cukrovar a Lihovar, in Zahorska Ves has been included in
the Zapadoslovenske Cukrovary (West Bohemian Sugar Mills) state enterprise
in Trnsva, with the following exceptions: the firm Cdkrospol (ealeB,out-
let of the Slovak sugar mills) in Bratislava has been included in the Pot-
ravinarsky Prumysl (Slovak Food Industry) state enterprise in Bratislava,
and the distillery has been included in the Slovenske Skrobarny (Slovak
Starch Factories) state enterprise in Trnava.
The nationalized firm Slegl a Poster in Prazske Predmesti (Section of
Hradec Kralove) has been transferred from the Ceskomoravske Zavody Vinarske
(Czech-M"ravian Wine Factories) state enterprise to the Vychodoceske Liho-
vary a Octarny (East Bohemian Distilleries and Vinegar Factories) state en-
terprise in Pardubice.
The factory producing coffee substitutes in Lenesice has been transferred
from the Standard state enterprise, to the local people's committee at Lenes-
ice, according to a decree of 10 September 1945.

included in the Svit state enterprise.

has been nationalized and included in the Sukno (Cloth) state enterprise.
The firm of Christian Gl.ssel in Teplice has been included in the Tena
(Knitting Mills) state enterprise.
The weaving mills of Marie Mest'anova and Antonin Prokopec, both in Prague-
Bubenec, have been nationalized and included in the Textilna Tvorba (Textile
Creation) state enterprise.
The firm of Vilem Neckem in Brno has been included in the Textilna Tvorba
(Textile Creation) state enterprise.
The firm of F. Humhal in Prague has been nationalized and included in the

The tailoring factory of Koch-Theyerlova in Prague has been nationalized

The firm of Pavel Sabella in Sokolov has been included in the Obhova
(Renovation) state enterprise.
Internal Trade
The Sanitas state enterprise is to deal in dental, 1s'boratory, and optical
goods, cotton, and bandages.

Potreby (Artisan Supplies) state enterprise, to the Sberne Suroviny (Raw Ma-
terial Collecting Centers) state enterprise.
The?Prva Obchodna Ucastinna Spolocnost (First Trade Cooperative L,socia-
tion) in Myjava with a warehouse in Vrbov has been included in the Velkodistri-
bucni Podnik (Wholesale Distribution Enterprise) state enterprise.
The brush-making golant at Moravsky Karlov has been transferred from the
Zadrev state enterprise, to the Veikodistribucni Podnik (VDP-Wholesale Distri-
bution Enterprise) state enterprise.
A total of 62 sales outlets have been transferred from the Slovenka Ple-
tarske a Stavkarske Zavody (fiactories of Knitted Goods and Hosiery) state enter-
prise to the Ministry of Internal Trade for the purpose of their inclusion in
a state enterprise.
The Prague factory (Vn1?krty of the nationalized firm Siemens-Reiniger-
Zavody, Inc, representation in Prague) of the Zavody Lecebne Mechaniky (Factories
of Medical Mechanical Equipment) state enterprise has been transferred to the
Ministry of Internal Trade for the purpose of its inclusion in another state
enterprise.
The Obchod Nabytkem (Furniture Trade) state enterprise formerly the furni-
ture factory of Anton Skrivanek and Son at Slavikovice, situated at Olomouc,
has been transferred from the Spolone UP Zavody (United UP ''actories) state en-
terprise to the Kinidtry of Interior Trade.
Chemicals and Rubber
Fifty one firms selling various types of chemical preparations, chiefly
drugs, have been included in the Chemodroga (Chemical Drug) state enterprise.
The name of the Lucobne Zavody state enterprise has been changed to the
.Slovenske Lucobne Zavody (Slovak Chemical Factories) state enterprise.
The biological research laboratory (biochemical preparation of'meeicines)
of Dr Engr Frantisek Kornalik, in Prague, has been nationalized.
The Central Tire Warehouse of Karol Jindrak in Bratislava has been national-
ized and included in the Obuva (Footwear) state enterprise in Partizanske, ex-
cept for the vulcanization workshop in Pezinok, which has become the responsi-
bility of I,,Ministry of Industry.
The nati^nalized firm Ant. Urban (wholesale trade in medical and pharma-
ceutical preparations) situated in Prague, has been included in the Spofa Spo-.
jene Farmaceuticke Zavody United Pharmaceutical Factories) state enterprise.
The firm of Engr Zacharias Sons in Linerec-Rochlice 'aas been included in
the Spolek Pro Chemickou a Eutni Vyrobu (Association for Chemical and Metallur-
gical Production) state enterprise.
A part of the Donin property of the nationalized firm Frantisek Klemm in
Liberec has been transferred to the Ustecke (hemicke Zavody (Usti ybexical
Plants) state enterprise.
Foreign Trade
The Antik-ta plant of the Obchodni Domy (Commercial Houses) state enterprise
in Prague has been designated as of 1 October 1949 the exclusive importer of
antiques. '

tic retail or export goods paid for by foreign currencies and precious metals and
of gift exports for which payment has been received from abroad.

Transportation
The firm of Junkers, Flugzeug-und Motorenwerke Aktiengesellschaft in
Dessau (only so far as it includes property in Czechoslovakia) and the firm
of Zittwerke A. G. Betrieb Semil in Semily (formit?g with the former an eco-
nomic unit) have been nationalized. The latter has been included in Auto-
Praga state enterprise).
Josef Moller, a firm at Liberec, has been included in the Auto-Praga
state enterprise.
The factory in Prague XII of the former firm of Justin Loschner has been
transferred from the Harpa state enterprise to the Mototechna state enterprise.
The "Autoavia", Z. ReJman and Co, a nationalized enterprise in Prague, has
been transferred, with the exception of the salesroom in Brno, from the Tatra
state ente, jrise, to the Ministry of internal Trade.
The factory Kvasiny in Kvasiny has been transferred from the Zbrojovka
Brno (Armament Factory Brno) state enterprise to the Automcbilove Zavody
(Automobile Factories) state enterprise.
The factory in Telc has been transferred from the Pal state enterprise to
the Pal Jihlava state enterprise.
The factory of Frantisek Cermak in Prague has been transferred from the
Povazske Strojarne (Vah Region Machine Shops)state enterprise to the Pal Kbely
state enterprise.
The factory in Jirkov has been transferred from the Transports state.enter-
prise to.the Pal Kbely state enterprise.
The nationalized firm Fiat, an automobile wholesale corporation in Bratis-
lava, has been included in the. Benzinol state enterprise in Brno.
Fuel and Power
Ravara, Inc. in Prague, and the E.lektrotechnicka Tovarns a Smaltovna, Pru-
mysl Svetelne Reklamy "Reklamon" (Electrotechnical Factory and Enamelling Works,
Electric Sign Industry "Reklamon"), Inc, in Kolin, both forming one economic
unit, have been nationalized. The latter has been transferred to the local
people's council in Kolin for the purpose of inclusion in the communal enter-
prise.
The electrotechnical concession L'udovit Hergovits in Bratislcva has been
included in the Zapadoslovenske Elektrarny (West Slovak Electric Power Plants)
state enterprise.
The firm of A. uormioch of Srnl (Susict Okrez) has been included in the
Zapadoceske Elektrarny (West Bohemian Electric Power Plants) state enterprise.
The Tovarna Elektromotoru (Electric Motor Factory) of Frantisek Kilian and
Co, at Ostrava, and the enterprise of Lindner Eduard, at Trinec, have been in-
cluded in the Moravske Elektrotechnicke Zavody (Moravian Electrotechnical Fac-
tories) state enterprise.
The firm of Frantisek Riedel,4t;Hanspach, has been included in the Ceske
Valcovny Kovu (Bohemian Metal Rolling Mills) state enterprise.
The firm Engr Siegfried Muller in Varnsdorf has been included in the Hutna
Prodejr.a (Metallurgical Saleb Outlet) ,sate enterprise.

Anton Svoboda, the newly-nationalized factory producing in baby included in

The Petrzalka plants of the Branecke Zelezarny (Branka Iron Works) and

Adolf Friteche and Co, a firm producing boiler parts, locks, and galva

The firm of Frantisek Frank, a factory producing gold, silver, and other
metal objects for religious use, located in Mohelnice, has been included In the

Certain property in Cernovice (Brno Okres) has been transferred from the
Rafinerie Mineralnich Oleju (Mineral oil Refineries) state enterprise to the
Ministry of IbtbM2&11Trade for the purpose of its inclusion in another enterprise.
The Asbestos state enterprise, has been established ty a decree of the Minis-
ter of Industry, dated 12 September 1949. It will produce asbestos and asbestos
products, and the base factory as well as its headquarters will be at Zverinek.
The enterprise will be supervised by the central organization for the leather-
working and rubber industry. It will include the following plants formerly belong-
ing to the Eternitove Zavody (Eternite Factories) state enterprise' Zverinek,
Radotin, Podmokly I. Podmokly II, and Vilemov. '
Podnikatelstvi Betonovych Staveb (Concrete Construction Enterprise) at Karl-
ovy Vary has been included in the Jachymovske Doly (Jachymov Mines) state enter-

The firm of Emil 3tracke, at Vratislavice near Liberec has been included

The firm of Svatopluk Mergental in Kromeriz has been nationalized and
included in the Moravsky Prumysl Kamene (Moravian Stone Industry) state enter-
prise.
"Keras", a ceramics corporation at Bechyne, has been included in the Spo-
jene Keramicke Zavody (United Ceramic Factories) state enterprise.
The Jihoceska Keramika (South Bohemian Ceramics) state enterprise is to
be established as of 1 January 1950, according to a decree of 27 September 1949.
It will manufacture and process ceramics foi industrial and artistic uses as
well as products made of ceramic materials and used for medical purposes; it
will conduct purchases and sales of these products, and it will mine the neces-
sary raw materials. The base factory will be situated at Bechyne. It will come
'ender the supervision of the Central Administration of the Industry of Construc-
tion Materials and ceramics.
The following factories are to be transferred from the Spojene Keramicke
Zavody (United Ceramic Factories) to the Jihoceska Keramika (South Bohemian
Ceramics) as of 1 January 1950: (1) at Bechyne, (2) at Jarosov nad Nezarkou,
(3) at Pribram.
The plant at Kostelec nrid Cernymi Lesy is to be transferred from Zapadoceske
Zavody Kaolinove Samotove e. Magnesitove (West Bohemian Kaolin, Fire Brick, and
Magnesite Factories) state enterprise, to Jihoceska Keramika (South Bohemian Ce-
ramics) as of 1 January 1950.
The firm Kamenoprumysl (Stone Industry) A. Becke and Co,. communal associa-
tion, in Pisecna (Jesenik Okres), has been included in the Moravskoslezsky Pru-
mysl Kamene (Moravian-Silesian Stone Industry) state enterprise.
The firm of Zdenek Holec in Zulova (Jesenik Okres) has been nationalized
and included in the Moravskoslezsky Prumysl Kamene (Moravian-Silesian Stone In-
dustry) state enterprise.
The Andezitove Kamanolomy (Andesite Stone Quarries), Inc, in Hronska Dubrava,
has been included in the Slovensky Kamenopriemysl (Slovak Stone Industry) state
enterprise.
The brick factory in Malechov (former property of Eugen Czernin from Chuden-
ice) has been included in the Zapadoceske Cihelny (West Bohemian Brick Works)
state enterprise.
The urick-making plant at Prievidza has been transferred from the former
nationalized fruit-processing and brick-making enterprise "Carpathia" to the
Zapadoslovenske Tehelne (West Slovak Brick Works) state enterprise.
The mechanical annular brick kiln of Ferdinand Cervinka in Privory (BrandA
nad Labem Okres) has been nationalized because it has technical installations and
a yearly production of at least 2,000,000 bricks. It has been transferred from
the Ministry of Industry to the Okres National Committee of?Brandyu nad Labem fcr
the purpose of its inclusion in the communal enterprise.
The plant at Vinne, Michalovce Okre's, formerly the firm of Andezovite Lomy
(Andesite Quarries) Boh. Pet'ura, has been excluded from the Slovensky Kamenop-
riemysl (Slovak Stone Industry) state enterprise and. included in the communal
enterprise.
The Bratislavska Tehel'na (Bratislava Brick Factory) in Bratislava has been
transferred to the Central Administration of Communal Enterprises of the city of
Bratislava,for the purpose of inclusion in a communal enterprise.

The firm of Jung and Rachel in Horni Ruzodol (Liberec Okres) and the firm
"Johnix", a corporation producing and trading in equipment for utilization of
heat located in Prague, have been included in the Prazeka Armaturka (Prague
Armature Factory) state enterprise.
Richard Schi"ida, a firm :for.ieepair and maintenance of refrigerators,:'atlKarl-
ovy Vary, has been included in the Frigera state factory producing refrigerator
and food processing machinery, as of 1 January 1949.
The technical office of Engr Otto Kunz in Bratislava has been included

Josef Bohm, a firm at Bystrica, has been included in the Okula state enter-
pris: producing optical goods, as of 1 January 1949.
The Zlamal plant (in Brno) of the Kovona state enterprise has been trans-
ferred to the Liberta state enterprise.
Construction and Glass
The following plants are to be transferred from the Omnia state enterprise
to the Bratislavske Instalacni Zavody (Bratislava.-Installation Factories) state
enterprise, on 1 January 1950, according to a decree of 25 July 1949;

The former Feitzelmayer factory at Bratislava is to be transferred from the
Omnia state enterprise to the Babel (Cable) state enterprise on 1 January 1950,
according to a decree of 26.August 1949.
The carpentry shop and furniture factory of Richard Alexy in Poprad have
been nationalized and included in the Novy Dom (New House) state enterprise.
The factory producing asbestos-cement slates and insulation and book card-
board (formerly the firm Gra*iit, Josef Prokop, architect and contractor, in
filinsko in Bohemia) has been transferred from the Ceskoslovenske Stavebni Zavody
(Czechoslovak Construction Factories) state enterprise to the Ministry of Industry:'
The firm of Wilhelm Pohl and Sohne in Jablonec mad Nisou has been included
in the Sklenena Bizuterie (Glass Jewelry) state enterprise.

ized and included in the Slovenske Sklarne (Slovak Glassworks) state enterprise.
The glass export firm of Em. Beranek in Skrdlovice (Zd'ar Ores) has been
nationalized and placed under the Ustredi Lidove a Umelecke yyroby'.(Centr-of
Folk and Art Production) in Prague.
The seat of the Zapadoceske Sklarny (West Bohemian Glassworks) state enter-
prise, is to be at Olcvi as of 1 January 1950, according to a decree of 2 October
1949.
The firm of Staffen Hugo in Lucany has been included in the Zeleznobrodske
Sklo (Zelezny Brod Glass) state enterprise.

The Zizkov (section of Prague) property of the Ceskoslovens'-e Zavody Koze-
delne a Gumarenske (Czechoslovak Leatherworking and Rubber Factories) state
enterprise has been transferred to the Bytovy Podnik Hlavniho Mesta Prahy
(Housing Enterprise of the Capital City of Prague) :ommunal enterprise.
