REPORTS CZECHOSLOVAK URANIUM EXPLOITATION CEDED TO USSR
Paris (Agence France Presse) -- A secret agreement between Czechoslovakia
and the'USSR was recently concluded, according to Rehak, Secretary-General of
the Council of Free Czechoslovakia. The agreement allegedly contains the fol-
lowing-two provisions:
1. The exploitation of all uranium deposits in Czechoslovakia is to be
ceded to the USSR. The regions involved are to be placed under Soviet adminis-
tration of an extraterritorial character. The personnel now employed is placed
under orders of the?,Soviet administration,?which is authorized to send employees
even to the Soviet Union.
s--e EA.uu au avcragc
of 4 kilometers vide, along theCzechoslovak-German frontier, will be ceded to
the German People's Republic. This territory lies south of the Saxon uranium
deposits already being exploited by the USSR,
The agreement provides for compensation to Czechoslovaklia. A special com-
mission was designated to lay out the nevi frontier.
Rehak remarked that the Czechoslovak uranium deposits had aJ?eady been ex-
ploited exclusively for the benefit of the USSR, but the mine administration has
been Czechoslovak. He asserted that this constitutes a..Soviet dictate to one of
its satellites.
