LIQUIDATES DZHUL'FA COMBINE -- Bakinskiy Rabochiy, 2 Jig]. 50
In accordance with Decree No 1+480-r of 6 April 1950 by the Council oP
Ministers USSR, the Main Administration of the Chemical-Mining Industry of
the Ministry of the Chemical Industry USSR announces the liquidation of the
Dzhul'fa Metallurgical-Mining Combine. .
Any claims against the combine must be presented to the Liquidation
Commission by 15 July 1950?
NEW ENAMELS GAVE TIME, INCREASE OUTPUT -- Ogonek, No 25, Jun 50
A watered enamel has been developed by a section chief and two engineers
of the central plant laboratory of the Krasnaya Presaya Lacquer Plant.
Painting'wi.th watered enamels'costs only one half-as much as painting with
conventional enamels. The number of operations has been reduced three times,
and the quality 'of the it,~ems has been irproved; It is no longer necessary to
build enormous paint shops wi$h s Iarge number of~drying chQmbers. Greater 'out-

The Kokand Superphosphate Plant is speeding up its production tempo `from
month to month. For the first quarter, it captured second-place in the All-
Union Socialist Competitio:l. of enterprises in the chemical industry.
METAL SCRAPERS SAVE RAW MATERIALS -- Kommunist, 11. May 50
Five out of 12 suggestions made over a 3=Month period at the Alaverdi
Chemical Plant have already been carried out. They will insure savings of
about .64,000 rubles per year.

Members of the furnace section of the copper-sulfate shop suggested the
use of metal instead of firebrick sex'apers. First resiil.ts indicate that the
metal scrapers, which have been used in the furnaces for 3 months, will mean
a great reduction in losses of raw material, and a saving of 4~F,000 rubles per
year. The furnaces will be able to operate more than a year without repairs.

An innovation at the Yerevan Carbide Plant has eliminated time losses re-
sulting from the disruption of the cooling system in the carbide furnaces. A

The use of the new plates has saved a great deal of raw material and increased
the productivity of the furnaces.

lovskiy Plant imeni Frunze, and the Kauchuk Plant; the Leningrad Krasnyy Treu-
gol'nik"Plant; the Stalinogorak Chemical. Combine imeni Stalin; and the Cherno-
rech'ye Chemical Plant imeni Kalinin.
