NORTH KOREAN STATE-OPERATED SHIPYARD FOR FISHING VESSELS
According to Ordinance No 16, of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry,
the state-operated shipyard for fishing vesselb'(hereinafter referred to as ship-
yard) shall build state-owned vessels for the marine products industry. This
shipyard is located on the premises of the state-operated Marine Industry Enter-
prise, and is under the control of the Bureau of Marine Industry Administration,
Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. This shipyard shall perform the following
functions-
1." Build dad repair state-owned fishing vessels.
2.-Manufacture shipbuilding materials, both of wood and metal.
3. Develop shipbuilding technology.
The director of the shipyard shall be appointed through the recommendation
of the director aftb:e Bureau of Marine Industry Administration. The adminiatra-
t18nnof the shipyard is performed by its three departments: accounting, produc-
tion, and'planning. The planning department, among other things,. shall safeguard
the secreta.-of this shipyard.
