CONSTRUCT BRIDGE ACROSS RION RIVER -- Zarya Vostoka, 2 Oct 49
A bridge across the Rion River in Ambrolaurskiy Rayon, Georgian SSR, has
been constructed and is now in use. It connects villages located on both sides
of the river.
BUILD LEVEE ON DNESTER ~?~ Sovetskaya Moldaviya, 11 Nov 49
The Tiraspol' F4achine Building Station has begun to build levees on the
Dnester River. A powerful excavator and tractor-bulldozer have been working
for a month in Dubossarskiy Rayon. The workers are increasing the tempo of
work daily. During the past month, they built up the bank by an additional
25,000 cubic meters. This is 10,000 cubic meters more than was specified in
the plan.
BUILD VILLAGE FOR METALLURGICAL WORKERS ?-?? Pravda, 2y Oct 49
p new settlement has been built on former waste land outside of Dneprod-
zerzhinsk. The wide streets of the town are lined with hundreds of new one-
story dwellings belonging to the individual workers of the Metallurgical Plant
imeni Dzerzhinskiy.
CONSTRUCT COTTON CLEANING PLANTS IN TADZHIKISTAN -- Sovetskaya Moldaviya,
21 Mar 50
In Regarskiy and Kurgan-Tyubinskiy rayons, Tadzhik SSR, construction of
the first plants for separating ttie best seed sF~ecimens from long-fiber cotton
has begun, These enterprises will make it possible to provide kolkhozes with
hundreds, of tons of seeds every year at the beginning of the pleating season.
The plants will be completed by the beginning of the hervest period.

NEW PLAN'P TO PRODUCE TUNG OIL -. Zarya Vostoka, 19 Nov 49
A large tong-oil plant has been built in Ochamchire, Abkhazian SSR, and
will soon be in operation. The plant will process tong seeds grown on kolk-
hoze~ and sovkhozes of Adzhariya, western Georgia, and Krasnodarak Kray.
The Moldavpishchestroy Trust of the Ministry of Food Industry, Moldavian
SSR, has pledged to complete construction of and to put into operation (1) the
main building of the Bykovetskiy Plant for canning and preserving vegetables
and fruits, (2) a 32??room house in Kishinev, (3) shops for the Tiraspol? xinery,
(4) xarehouses for the Koshuitskiy Fruit Plant, and (5) the Dubossary mill.
The Ministry of Forestry has pledged to completes the construction of (1)
ane boiler and tea standard dwelling houses for the Kishinev Furniture Combine,
(2) a 1,500-square meter warehouse for prepared fruit products and 450 square
meters of lying space in Tiraspol', and (3) a boiler and drying chamber for a
furniture factory in Bel'tse.
