DEVELOP NEW ARTERIAL OSCILLOGRAPH
COMPLEX BRIGADE PROPOSES NEW INSTRUMENT -- Leningradskaya Pravda, 12 Aug 50
The Leningrad Krasnogvardeyets Plant has several complex brigades.,,. These
are active groups of stakhanovites and engineering-technical workers joined in
creative collaboration. These brigades have settled very complicated problems
in improving the organization of labor and the quality of output.
Particular success has been attained by the brigade composed of engineers,
stakhanovites, and the chief of the experimental shop. It proposed to produce-.a
new, more accurate, and more sensitive model of arterial oscillograph for re-)
cording blood pressure. When the instrument was tested, it showed excellent 'te-
sults. A very favorable report was made by a corresponding member of the Academy
of Medical Sciences.' It answers present-day medical requirements, is convenient
to use,. accurate, dependable, and less expensive to produce.
The brigade has produced 50 of these instruments during the past month. It
is now developing a double-loop oscillograph for determining blood pressure
simultaneously at two points in the body.
MAKES APPARATUS FOR SCHOOLS, LABORATORIES -- Vechernyaya Moskva, 4 Aug 50
The Moscow Fizelektropribor (Physics and Electrical Apparatus) Plant of the.
Ministry of Education RSFSR has recently put 22 new items into series production.
The plant, which supplies schools and laboratories, finished its July plan ahead
of schedule and won the Transferable Red Banner of its ministry.

The Moscow Instruments Plant is one of the leading enterprises in the
capital. Its production process is completely mechanized. It consistently
exceeds its production program and is well on the way toward becoming a Stak-
hanovite plant

Council of Trade Unions and the Ministry of'Machine and Instrument Build-
ing.
The assembly shop has two conveyers for collecting alternating and direct
current instruments. An instrument leaves the conveyer every 35 seconds. It is
tested, wrapped, and passes through a trap door into the warehouse.
The assembly and storage shop, particularly the core section, has done
especially good work.
During a 6-month period, the plant made one million rubles of above-plan
profit.
